DESCRIPTION:Rampant Abuse in Texas Public Schools\nSPEAKER: ERIN ANDERSON \nIt seems like every day there is a new\, horrifying headline about a high school teacher\, PE coach\, or school counselor getting caught in a child sex abuse scandal with one of their students. This is completely unacceptable and should give all of us pause when considering where we send our children for their education\, and with whom they will spend their time. Thankfully\, many are being exposed and punished\, but it seems their punishment is not great enough. Erin Anderson\, a senior journalist for Texas Scorecard\, has been reporting on these cases tirelessly and we’ve invited her here today to share about these tragic stories. Thankfully there are new laws in place that are supposed to be protecting our children in schools\, but the challenge we face is\, as always\, enforcement! Who is in charge of enforcing them\, and how can we be sure that is happening? DESCRIPTION:Tarrant County: The Consequence of AI\, with Dr. Mark Fulmer\nEvent Link: Tarrant County: The Consequence of AI\, with Dr. Mark Fulmer – True Texas Project \nCan We Harness the Power of Artificial Intelligence for Good Without Opening Pandora’s Box? \nIn this presentation we will cover what exactly “AI” is\, how it is currently being used\, and what the possibilities could be for a future with AI.\nCan AI technology be used for nefarious purposes? YES! There are “Bad Actors” already impacting such areas as national security\, infrastructure vulnerability\, voting systems\, banking-economic sectors\, media\, and much more. We will take a look at the UN Global Digital Compact\, the World Economic Forum\, EU\, NATO and others to determine what the geopolitical implications of AI may be.  Other points we will consider are:\n• The Regulation\, Oversight & Governance of AI technology (current developments) – On a national level and in the state of Texas.\n• The rapid development of “AI Data Centers” in Texas. Who’s funding them and where are they being constructed?\n• Philosophical & ethical considerations of AI technology to include discussion of “Transhumanism”.
